Duquesne students to board school bus in fall for first time Duquesne City School District officials say about 427 students in grades K-8 will qualify this fall for the bus transportation for the first time.

Pennsylvania finalist for education grant Pennsylvania could find out in September whether it will receive a cut of $3.4 billion in federal stimulus money for education reform. Department of Education officials announced Tuesday that 18 states and the District of Columbia are finalists in the second round of the "Race to the Top" grant competition.

Childhood education program to expand Early Head Start services soon will be available in some neighborhoods of southern, northern and western Allegheny County because of a $720,000 federal stimulus grant received by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit.

At the last Duquesne City School District Board of Control meeting, members of the PTA were recognized for all of the support they provide for the school. The PTA can be credited for organizing a variety of school activities and fundraisers. Great Job Ladies!

MSC Receives $1.13 Million Federal Grant The AIU's Math and Science Collaborative has received a $1,135,300 grant from the Title IIB/Math & Science Partnership. This federal funding will be used to offer quality professional development to educators in the subjects of Math and Science, and will build upon the services already developed by the collaborative.
