Infrastructure and Service Delivery

The AIU's Infrastructure and Service Delivery Team provides management of network infrastructure and security, electronic mail as well as the phone and security systems. They also provide hardware and software support for AIU programs which are based at the Central Office as well as non-central office locations.   • Electronic Mail
    All AIU employees have access to the AIU's electronic mail system. This system allows communication from the office, home or school via the Internet.  When away from the office, AIU employees can access their email through the Internet using Web Access.

  • Email Encryption
    In order to follow data privacy compliancy, the AIU has a method to encrypt email communication which could possibly contain student, parent or employee data has been implemented.

  • Email Security
    The AIU has integrated a hardware and software solution for providing industry-leading protection of our email server.

  • Help Desk
    Information Services staff provides hardware and software support for the AIU's Central Office.  AIU employees who are having technical difficulties with equipment or software can call the AIU Help Desk at 412-394-5900.

  • Local Area Network
    The AIU's Local Area Network (LAN) houses computer applications and files that can be shared among employees and programs.

  • Metropolitan Area Network
    The AIU's metropolitan area network (MAN) connects remote sites to the AIU's Central Office and the Internet.  The MAN is a high-speed computer connection that allows the sharing of regional resources through other networks.

  • Voice Services
    A variety of voice services including the IP telephony system (Avaya Aura) at Central Office, voice mail services (Avaya Modular Messaging), call center applications, and an online directory of AIU Central Office employees are available.
